A superb example by this renowned Madrid luthier, with a very lovely personal Spanish tone - powerful projection with a singing treble and warm, clear bass. This instrument is in excellent condition with a few playing marks on the french-polished top. The Brazilian Rosewood is of superb quality. Tuners are Fustero.
Manuel Cacares was part of the great team of luthiers working for Jose Ramirez in the 1960s. In recent years his methods of construction have been influenced by his close friendship with the renowned Arcangel Fernandez.
His instruments, in the Madrid style, are of the very highest quality and workmanship is meticulous. The sound is warm with excellent clarity and a wonderfully expressive quality. The appearance is of a very individually-made top concert instrument constructed with great attention to detail. A luthier who, after some forty year's experience, is at the height of his skills!
