Alastair McNeill is one of the greatest luthiers of the present day. He has now been making for some thirty years and the quality of his meticulous workmanship both from a musical and visual view point are exceptional and commensurate with this experience. His instruments, in very limited production, are in demand internationally and played in concert by professional artists including John Mills.
This model is a wonderful example of his craftsmanship, incorporating features from the Spanish Masters of the past and ideas from his own developments. The sound is focused with great clarity and excellent depth of bass. It possesses wonderful powers of expression and projection. A great looking instrument too!
This instrument is french-polished and has a few small playing marks. These are very slight indeed and are only at all noticeable when looking at the finish from close-up. In all other respects the condition is mint.
