Mariano Tezanos was part of the great team of luthiers working for Jose Ramirez in the 1960's. Mariano's father, who also worked for Ramirez, was one of Segovia's favoured luthiers of that period.
Teodoro Gregorio Perez was part of the same team there, where he worked for twenty-six years.
A highly successful partnership between these two luthiers followed, after which they went their separate ways.
This instrument is a superb example of their final work together.
The condition is as new except for a few small marks in the French polish on the top. These require very close inspection holding the surface up to the light to spot. Both the Indian rosewood and the cedar are of really wonderful quality.
This is a sensitive yet powerful instrument capable of producing a vast expressive range of tone colours. Projection is wonderful with sound across the balanced registers having great warmth, clarity and volume. Playability is most comfortable.
