A really great instrument from the Ramirez workshop of the 60's. It has the initials MC on the interior heel which indicates that it was constructed by Manuel Cacares. Because it was in the early part of his career, Ramirez dedicated it as a 2a Model (which we have deduced from the gold border of the label although nothing on the label actually denotes this). This is a lovely guitar and, remarkably, is in absolutely wonderful completely original condition - it is difficult to imagine any instrument from this era having been better preserved - with there being no cracks, damage or repairs whatsoever.
There are only three noticeable blemishes in the polish. They are either side of the heel where the neck joins the body and a small mark on the neck near the fingerboard. On the one side of the heel the varnish has yellowed: on the other there is also a very small patch of varnish missing. The wood underneath is undamaged. Playability is really good with the string height being very comfortable. The tone is exceptional; full, sweet with variety and superb projection. A great piece of Ramirez history and a great player's instrument!
