Alastair, whose career now spans more than four decades, has long been one of our very favourite luthiers. He is now at the absolute height of his powers and present output represents his very best. Workmanship has always been of the highest order and this is combined with fine musical qualities and carefully attended comfortable playability.

This remarkable instrument exhibits all of Alastair’s meticulous and tasteful approach to build quality, and features in addition a carefully-crafted lattice braced soundboard of top quality cedar. Combined with an unusually weighty body, the resulting volume is immense. The variety of tonal colours does not suffer, however; on playing this guitar it is easy to get absorbed in the many possibilities offered by a detailed palette of timbres. The overall impression is of an outstanding concert instrument with a profound depth of volume.
