The Centenario was introduced as a special concert model in 1982 by Jose Ramirez III to celebrate 100 years of lutherie by the House of Ramirez.
All the very best materials and the most refined workmanship have been involved in the construction of this outstanding instrument. It features the highest class of exotic tonewoods, tasteful and expertly-crafted inlay and meticulously-carved detail. Tuning machines are by Rodgers.
The difference between this guitar and the 1a Tradicional model is not just cosmetic, however. Here, the characteristic Ramirez tonal signature – featuring warmth, rich colour variety, sensitive response sympathetic to the player, impressive volume and projection – is magnified to a truly remarkable level.
Highly expressive and an absolute joy to play, this 2010 example is in excellent condition. There are no cracks or structural damage at all. There is a slight mark in the polish on the top which is just under 2cm long. There are a few other very tiny marks in the polish which are not widespread. None of the marks have resulted in the wood being exposed or cracked.
The Centenario model being constructed in very restricted numbers to special order, the one we offer here presents a rare opportunity to acquire one – at a more affordable price.
