The House of Ramirez has for many years (since 1882!) constructed the finest quality classical instruments played by many of the world’s top recitalists including the legendary Andres Segovia, Narciso Yepes, Julian Bream, Xuefei Yang, Alexandre Lagoya, Christopher Parkening, Kazuhito Yamashita, Liona Boyd, Laurindo Almeida, Alirio Diaz, Jose Luis Gonzales, Antonio Lauro, Oscar Ghiglia and John Mills.
This Romantica model was designed by Jose Ramirez III and its smaller dimensions are quite similar to instruments constructed in the early 19th Century. The smaller scale and reduced neck width facilitate playing, particularly for guitarists with smaller hands. This has not, however, resulted in any great loss of tone or volume and the projection of sound is really quite remarkable for its size.
The added Camara ‘shelf’ of Rosewood, set about halfway down the sides and parallel to the top and back is designed to aid clarity and increase the instrument’s volume. Although technically second-hand, this wonderful little concert guitar is in as-new condition. The price includes a fitted hardshell case.
