Back and Sides Solid Indian Rosewood
Width at nut 51.5 mm
Scale length 65 cm
A very nice second-hand example, with plenty of volume, a warm, full tone and bright treble.
In very good condition, the polish bears only a few small marks and scratches, and is not at all worn. On the neck, at the edge of the fingerboard in line with the 9th fret, is a circular patch of rough clear polish or glue, about 1cm in diameter. This is just cosmetic and is not obvious.
The main indication of this instrument’s second-hand status are two matching strap buttons that have been neatly retrofitted in the heel and the base. Around the heel button is a fine hairline crack in the varnish, visible in the photograph. This looks stable, and does not appear to go through the 2mm rosewood veneer cap on the back of the heel.
