Teodoro Gregorio Perez was part of the team of great luthiers at the workshop of Jose Ramirez III in the 1960s and continued to work there for twenty-six years. A highly successful partnership with Mariano Tezanos followed, after which the two luthiers went their separate ways.
The workmanship on Teodoro’s instruments is outstanding, and their tone is characteristic of the very best work of the Madrid luthiers. The Maestro Especial model represents some of the workshop’s finest lutherie, with superior tonewoods rendering both a world-class concert sound and an exceptionally elegant appearance.
This is a powerful guitar with a warm, rich, singing, detailed tonal palette and superb volume. Playability is very comfortable. It has a french polish finish. The back and sides are beautifully figured, complemented by an immaculately crafted rosette and binding.
