Teodoro Gregorio Perez was part of the team of great luthiers at the workshop of Jose Ramirez III in the 1960s and continued to work there for twenty-six years. A highly successful partnership with Mariano Tezanos followed, after which the two luthiers went their separate ways.
The workmanship on Teodoro’s instruments is outstanding, and their tone is characteristic of the very best work of the Madrid luthiers. This New Madrid model represents the entry-level instrument from this distinguished workshop. The guitar’s tone is strong and clear, playability good and the detailed rosette renders a most attractive appearance. It has a lacquer finish and Indian Rosewood back and sides.
