Ignacio Fleta e hijos 1967 Brazilian/Cedar
A remarkable guitar from a legendary maker. The appearance and quality of building is everything one would expect of this luthier whose instruments have been played by many of the greats, including Andres Segovia and John Williams. It has Brazilian rosewood back and sides, which makes this a very rare Fleta indeed.
The tone, balance and projection are all quite incredible and the treble response is strong. This instrument still has a very lively, well-focused tone with great responsive, expressive qualities. The volume may initially appear to be a little less than that of their cedar instruments but the powers of projection of this well-focused sound are excellent. The condition is generally very good. There was a small area of damage to the top, near the side of the lower bout and because of this a small fillet of spruce has been expertly inlaid and the top repolished. Playabilty is amazingly comfortable with a beautifully crafted neck. This is the finest sounding spruce top Fleta that we have heard.
