Paulino Bernabe 1972 1a Brazilian/Cedar
A legendary Spanish luthier! Paulino Bernabe was the appointed head of the great team of luthiers working for Jose Ramirez in the 1960’s. In 1970 he established his own workshop and his instruments have been played by many concert artists including the Spanish maestro, Narciso Yepes. They are of the very highest quality and workmanship is meticulous. The Brazilian rosewood back of this instrument is stunning. The sound is warm with excellent clarity and the variety of tone colours easily available gives great expressive quality with excellent projection.
This particular instrument is completely constructed by the maestro at the height of his powers. It has been played (a lot!) and there are many areas of playing wear but no cracks and there are golpeadores fitted which could be removed. The instrument has been refretted and is a delight to play.
